- BA WiFi is the city government's free network, open 24 hours in parks, squares, hospitals, museums, libraries, and Subte and Metrobus stations. Each session lasts half an hour and renews without limit once you accept the terms and conditions again.
- The city quotes BA WiFi at 5 Mbps per user from more than 1,200 antennas in over 1,000 locations, each reaching 30 to 50 metres. A filter blocks content unsuitable for under-18s, so some sites will not load.
- Emova, the Subte operator, accepts Visa and Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards issued outside Argentina, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and NFC watches, at specially signed turnstiles. No registration is needed, so a visitor can ride without first buying a SUBE card.
- Since 22 May 2025 every Subte station also takes QR payment from a virtual wallet. Emova says the system needs neither an internet connection nor mobile data, so a weak signal on the platform does not stop you getting through the gate.
- The city is renovating Subte stations one by one and closes each during the works; in September 2026 Medrano, Lavalle, Tribunales, Entre Rios and Urquiza were shut. The service status panel on the Subte page lists current closures.
- Tienda Leon runs a direct coach between Ezeiza and Aeroparque taking about 1 hour 20 minutes, useful for an international arrival connecting to a domestic flight. The company advertises Starlink internet on board its buses.
- City bus line 8 is the public link between the two airports. National Transport Resolution 85/2023 of December 2023 reworked its route after the airport regulator ORSNA asked for the semi-fast Ezeiza service to be extended from Avenida de Mayo to Aeroparque.
- The city's official tourism site counts a third airport, El Palomar, 18 km from the city, which has handled low-cost domestic flights since 2018 and has a train station alongside.
- All three airports are served by public bus lines, which need a SUBE card and can be crowded at peak times with little room for luggage. The city recommends its BA Como Llego app for planning public transport routes.
- Ferries cross the Rio de la Plata to Montevideo and Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay from terminals in Puerto Madero and La Boca, run by Buquebus, Seacat and Colonia Express. Cruise ships use the Quinquela Martin terminal in Retiro.
- Long-distance coaches to the rest of Argentina and neighbouring countries leave from the Retiro bus station, where dozens of companies sell tickets from booths on the upper floor. The city runs a tourist assistance centre there at unit 83.
- BA Taxi is the city government's own app for calling licensed taxis with transparent fares. Visit Argentina advises checking that a street-hailed taxi has its meter running and a visible licence.
- Ecobici, the public bike scheme, is free for residents and tourists after registering in the BA Ecobici or MiBA app. Bikes unlock by scanning a QR code, with four free rides a day, 30 minutes each on weekdays and 60 on weekends and holidays.
- City buses run 24 hours with a thinner service at night. Visit Argentina warns that some places will not top up a SUBE card late in the evening, so load credit before heading out.
- A SUBE card can be bought online or at authorised kiosks, train stations and SUBE service centres. Registering it online is optional but gives a lower fare and protects the balance if the card is lost, and the card can run into a negative balance for a few extra rides.
