Conviene saber sobre Riga
- Riga no tiene metro y nunca lo tuvo: las obras estaban previstas desde 1990 pero se cancelaron tras las protestas ciudadanas y el desplome de la URSS, lo que deja a Riga como la mayor capital báltica o nórdica sin metro.
- El aeropuerto todavía no tiene estación de tren, la línea de autobús 22 es el enlace de transporte público, con una estación de Rail Baltica prevista pero no construida.
- El Riga Airport introdujo un sistema de vales de taxi a precio fijo en abril de 2024 para los trayectos al centro.
- El transporte de superficie de la ciudad son las siete líneas de tranvía de Rīgas Satiksme más autobuses y trolebuses; en Riga hay tranvías desde 1882.
- By day, bus 22 links Riga airport with the centre in about 40 minutes, stopping at Grecinieku iela beside the Old Town and at Autoosta by the international bus station; towards the airport, board at Centrala Stacija or 13. janvara iela.
- After bus 22 stops for the night, the N22 night bus runs hourly: from the airport at 00:30, 01:30, 02:30, 03:30 and 04:30, and from the Stacijas laukums stop on Marijas iela on the hour from midnight to 04:00.
- Riga's public transport operator Rigas satiksme sells 90 minute tickets and 24 hour, 3 day and 5 day tickets, and also lets passengers pay for trips with a smartphone.
- The Riga Unified Ticket covers a single Vivi train journey in zones A to E and then a 90 minute ticket on Rigas satiksme buses, trams and trolleybuses, which saves one euro against buying the two separately.
