- Sliema sits directly across Marsamxett Harbour from Valletta and is reached either by a short harbour ferry or by bus around the inlet.
- Sliema shares Malta's single airport at Luqa; there is no separate airfield and no rail link anywhere on the island.
- Malta's public wifi network is called MCAfreeWiFi. Connecting opens a splash page that asks only for agreement to the terms plus the user's age, gender and nationality, with no phone number.
