Conviene saber sobre Porto
- Porto's metro is largely surface light rail: only 8.3 km of the 85-station network is underground, in central Porto, with the rest above ground in the suburbs.
- Line E has linked Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport to Campanhã since 27 May 2006.
- The airport is 11 km northwest of the Clérigos Tower in the city centre.
- Porto Free Wi-Fi is a free internet network installed with the support of Porto Digital and the Camara Municipal do Porto, spread over strategic points of the city such as squares, libraries and cultural spaces.
- Porto city council describes hundreds of free hotspots across the whole city, in parks, on buses and in stations.
- The fibre optic infrastructure behind Porto Free Wifi also carries eduroam, the academic network used by more than 245,000 university students from over 3,000 institutions worldwide.
- Contactless Visa and Mastercard payment on Andante runs at Aeroporto, Senhora da Hora, Casa da Musica and Trindade, plus the city centre stations Campanha, Bolhao, Campo 24 de Agosto, Sao Bento and Aliados.
- The Andante contactless card scheme also covers STCP bus line 500, and when a customer makes four or more journeys in one day the most advantageous fare applies up to a daily maximum.
- The Andante Azul is a paper card valid for one year, reloadable with occasional titles at vending machines in metro and CP stations, at Payshop agents and at Multibanco cash machines.
- The Anda app needs an Android phone running version 5.0 or later with NFC and Bluetooth. Bluetooth and location must stay switched on before, during and until the end of every journey.
- Anda needs an internet connection at the moment you validate, so the system receives the record of your entry, and NFC has to be switched on before you tap the validator.
- To validate an Andante card, hold it within 10 centimetres of the black circle on the validator and wait for the green light. Validating is compulsory whatever title or card you hold.
- The operator DIGI says all Metro do Porto lines now carry its mobile network, so its customers can make calls, send messages and use a 5G connection while travelling underground.
- VINCI Airports provides free and unlimited wifi across the whole ANA network in mainland Portugal, using a simple connection system with a very short form and no software to download.
- STCP runs day buses 601 and 602 from Cordoaria and 604 from S. Joao Hospital to the airport. Night line 3M links Avenida dos Aliados with the airport between 00:30 and 05:30.
- The Linha Rosa will link Casa da Musica to Sao Bento, with intermediate stations at Praca da Galiza and Jardim do Carregal.
