- Galle is 119 km south of Colombo; the Southern Expressway cut the drive to about one hour, against three hours on the old A2 Galle Road along the coast.
- Galle railway station is the junction of the west and south coast segments of the Coastal Line between Colombo and Matara, so it is a natural interchange point rather than a terminus.
- Dialog runs two airport stores right after the customs desk in the arrival lobby at Bandaranaike International Airport. You present your passport to a representative to activate a prepaid SIM. Tourist eSIM is also offered.
- SLT-Mobitel says a tourist needs only a foreign passport for its SIM, sold at SLT-Mobitel counters in the arrival lobby at Bandaranaike International Airport. An eSIM can be requested at the same arrival lobby counters.
- The Mobitel airport arrival counter is at H1, Arrival Public Concourse, Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, and is listed as open 24 hours every day of the week.
- Sri Lanka Railways online seat reservation opens 30 days before travel and closes 2 hours before departure. A NIC or passport number is required for each passenger. A 5 percent convenience fee applies.
