Conviene saber sobre Hamburg

• Hochbahn indica que en sus túneles del U-Bahn sigue sin haber una red LTE adecuada, y por eso sus trenes no llevan wifi a bordo aunque las estaciones estén conectadas por fibra.
• El S1 se divide en Ohlsdorf. Solo los tres primeros vagones siguen hasta el aeropuerto; la parte trasera va a Poppenbuttel.
• La estación de S-Bahn del aeropuerto es subterránea, se llega a ella directamente desde las terminales 1 y 2 en ascensor o escalera mecánica, y no se inauguró hasta el 11 de diciembre de 2008.
• Hamburg Airport se inauguró en enero de 1911 y es el aeropuerto internacional más antiguo del mundo todavía en funcionamiento. Se le puso el nombre de Helmut Schmidt en noviembre de 2016.
• El S1 pasa cada 10 minutos entre aproximadamente las 6am y las 11pm y tarda 25 minutos por trayecto hasta la Hauptbahnhof.

• HADAG ferry line 62 belongs to the hvv network and leaves Landungsbruecken pier 3 for Finkenwerder about every 15 minutes between 06:45 and 22:15 on weekdays, calling at the Fischmarkt, Dockland and Neumuehlen/Oevelgoenne on the way.
• Buying single and day tickets in the hvv switch app earns a 7 percent discount, which also applies to upgrades. Season tickets and tourist offers get no online discount.
• Airport buses stop in front of Terminal 1 on the arrivals level. Night bus 606 links the airport with the Hauptbahnhof and the Rathausmarkt, and taxis wait outside both terminals, taking cash or cards.
• Hamburg's culture and tourism tax is a fixed amount per guest and night, set by the net room price. For bookings from 2025 it is 1.20 euros up to 50 euros, 2.40 euros up to 100 and 4.80 euros up to 200.
• The tax falls on the hotel, which may pass it on to the guest but does not have to. It covers stays shorter than two months, and business trips have been taxed since 1 January 2023.
