- Nuuday: Nuuday was the largest mobile provider at the end of 2025 with 3.33 million subscriptions, 36.7 percent of the 9.06 million total counted by the Danish agency for digital government. Its share has slipped slightly from 37.5 percent at the end of 2023.
- Hi3G (3): Hi3G, which trades as 3, had 1.79 million subscriptions at the end of 2025, a 19.7 percent share and the fastest growth among the large providers at 7.9 percent in a year.
- Telenor: Telenor had 1.70 million mobile subscriptions at the end of 2025, a 18.75 percent share, and carried the second largest volume of outgoing domestic call minutes after Nuuday.
- Norlys: Norlys Mobil had 1.25 million subscriptions at the end of 2025, 13.8 percent of the market, and was the largest provider of machine to machine telemetry lines with 37.9 percent of them.
- TDC NET: TDC NET runs a network but sells no subscriptions itself, leaving that to retail providers. It reports 5G coverage of 99.7 percent on the latest measurement by the Danish Technological Institute.
Les anciens réseaux en Danemark
- 3 was the last Danish operator to close 3G, shutting it down gradually through November 2025 and finally on 1 December 2025. Phones that support only 3G can no longer make calls or use data on a SIM, while phones with 4G VoLTE or 5G keep working.
- All Danish 3G networks, run by Hi3G, TDC NET and the Norlys and Telenor joint network TN-Network, were closed by the end of 2025. 2G is still running on TDC NET and TN-Network, and no closure date has been announced.
- Once 2G goes, a phone can only make calls if it supports VoLTE and has it switched on. The regulator warns that people using a foreign SIM on a Danish 2G network may get no advance notice of a closure.
La 5G en Danemark
- The 2021 auction raised 2,076,186,000 kroner. In the 3.5 GHz band TDC NET won 130 MHz, Hi3G 120 MHz and TT-Netværket, the Telia and Telenor joint company, 140 MHz. In the 26 GHz band they won 1,250, 1,000 and 600 MHz.
- Licence conditions required the 3.5 GHz band to reach 60 percent of the population by the end of 2023 and 75 percent by the end of 2025. 60 MHz of TT-Netværket's share must be leased to businesses and universities that want private 5G networks.
- TDC NET launched Denmark's first 5G network in September 2020 in non-standalone form, alongside 4G. In August 2023 it switched on the country's first standalone 5G network with Ericsson.
- Basic 5G reaches 100 percent of households, including sparsely populated areas. The faster 3.4 to 3.8 GHz layer covered 87.5 percent of households in 2025 but only 28.18 percent in sparsely populated areas, according to the European Commission.
- In the second half of 2024, 85.8 percent of standard mobile subscriptions had access to 5G, and 5G carried 41.2 percent of all mobile data. Average use was 26.9 GB per subscription per month.
Le réseau en Danemark : à savoir
- The 2021 licences also obliged the three operators to bring calls and at least 30 Mbit/s download to 122 poorly covered areas, with around 9,000 homes, businesses and holiday houses, by 1 February 2024.
- The regulator notes that energy efficient insulation and sun reflecting windows can weaken mobile signal indoors, and that high speed and the construction of trains can make coverage worse on board.
- The 2025 broadband mapping found that 480,000 more addresses could get mobile broadband of at least 600 Mbit/s than a year earlier, making the mobile network an alternative where cables do not reach.
- Only 206,657 prepaid cards were active in Denmark at the end of 2025, a small fraction of the 9.06 million mobile subscriptions. Almost every Danish line is a monthly subscription rather than pay as you go.
